Q1. Why is corporate culture becoming more important to you when deciding who you allocate assets to?
Corporate culture is a key pillar of due diligence as it affects so many areas - whether that be risk management, performance or sustainability. Investment management is fundamentally a people business, and positive, inclusive and engaging environments help attract and retain talent, encourage better ideas and enable people to fulfil their potential. It can also help to generate alpha, as well as protect a firm's reputation. In a world where AI is increasingly accessible, the quality, collaboration and judgement of people may become an even more important differentiator.
Q2. In your view, why is it important to set a higher standard of stewardship and behaviour within the investment industry?
N- including clients, staff, regulators and the broader public.
Q3. Why did you decide to sit on the ACT Stewardship Council and what does it mean to you personally?
It is a privilege to join a group of esteemed fund researchers from across the industry. I believe collaboration can be a catalyst for positive change, and the Council provides an opportunity to build on the stewardship work we already do at Cazenove while helping raise standards across the wider investment industry.
